Santa Claus is coming to Town

Erskine & District Rotary and Erskine Community Council are happy to announce that the “real” Santa Claus is coming to town on Friday the 24th of November.

Come and visit Santa at the Christmas Lights Switch On at Bridgewater Shopping Centre.

Get into the Christmas spirit with Santa’s Grotto, stalls, music, choirs, tombola and food. Santa’s elves will also be collecting letters to Santa from the children.

The fun starts at 6:45 p.m. and the Lights will be switched on by 3 local children and Santa at 7:15 p.m. The event is planned to finish around 8:00 p.m.

To make this event a success we are needing volunteers from the community to be marshals at the events. Please PM us if you are free to volunteer at the above days/times.

New Pedestrian Crossing

New Pedestrian Crossing

We are delighted to announce that the Erskine Community Council has successfully obtained approval for the installation of a new pedestrian crossing on Newshot Drive. This crossing will connect Parkvale Crescent and Garnieland Road, ensuring safer and more convenient passage for pedestrians.

We are excited to share this news with you and would like to express our gratitude to all those involved in making this project a reality. The hard work and dedication of the Community Council has played a significant role in achieving this milestone.

The installation of the Puffin Crossing is expected to be completed in Autumn 2023. In preparation for this, groundworks will commence in August at the designated location. Please note that as part of the changes, the position of the bus stops will be adjusted to accommodate the new crossing.

We are committed to keeping you informed about the progress of this project and will provide updates as the work unfolds. We believe that this pedestrian crossing will greatly enhance the safety and accessibility of our community.

Together, we are making Erskine a better place for everyone.
